Gulati Spice market, Saket - Delhi
'★★★★½' Many times while roaming in select city walk, I had a chance to visit this place but I don't know why on earth I missed it every time. The area behind SCW is flooded by restaurants/cafes/pubs. The visit was not pre-planned. Earlier, I have seen a showcase of this place on some food channel and as soon as I read its name, the different versions of breathtaking non-veg dishes just started hitting my nerves. I was accompanied by my wife and brother in law.
'Slideshow'
It was 3 pm and place was all vacant. It was fine dining restaurant but the ambience was old fashioned. We were able to see the chefs working on their platform from a glass partition between the sitting area and kitchen. Series of jars filled with different Indian spices gave an authentic muglai aura to the restaurant. Looked pretty neat and systematic. I was impressed by the fine array of dishes on the menu, I wish I could order everything. However, we ordered a meat platter, ( galouti kebab, patthar ke kebab, burrah , bhuna kukad), paneer lababdar, butter chicken, garlic naan, butter naan and chilled beer.

'Meat Platter'
As soon as I saw the platter, I just felt taking a dip in it. It was so enchanting to just look at that buttery platter. It was almost like winning a medal in games when I was in school, except instead of just hanging it and showing it to everyone around, I was gonna eat every bite from that super looking platter. Worth trying.

'Galouti Kebabs'
Galouti Kebabs: These were the best part of the platter. I cannot describe the texture and it's taste in mere words. As I am writing about these insanely tender kebab, my mouth is watering. The flavour, the seasoning and the aroma everything was well balanced. I cannot remember the last time I had such luscious galouti. They were so unbelievably soft that they were melting in my mouth. It was closest to the authentic original tundey kebabs. This is the one that would surely make me drive all the way back here again and again.

'Patthar ke kebab'
Patthar ke kebab: These were again perfectly cooked and well marinated. They were a bit salty but was on a brighter side for me. They were hot, fresh, mellow and flavoursome.

'Burrah Kebab'
Burrah Kebab: The fingerlicking good platter made me uncontrollable. I knew, no one could stop me until its all over. Didn't spoke a word, I was soo much indulged in eating that perfectly spiced chops. The burnt on the edges added a smokey flavour to the dish which made it flawless.

'Bhuna kukad'
Bhuna kukad: This part of the platter stands on the last place. It was a little saltier and chewy. Once I started chewing it began to release all its flavours and spices, but still they were not able to impress me. I have had better versions of bhuna kukad earlier.
The service was quick. Paneer lababdaar was impeccable and very well balanced. Paneer never tasted soo good. After tasting a spoonful of this glazy gravy, we all just took a moment of silence and admired the creamy & enticing flavour of this curry. Paneer lababdar was simply outstanding with velvetty soft paneer and the right garlic and onion flavour. I couldn't have asked for better lababdar. My wife is a vegan and she luvd it. Talking about butter chicken, it was not up to the mark for sure. On very fewer occasions, I prefer veg dish over chicken and this happened here. Butter chicken was pretty average, was not hitting the spot. Bread were crisp and hot.
Lastly: A sensational and classic lunch at Gulati's made our afternoon excellent. The chefs have done an exceptionally good job. There are a lot of delicious options you can bid on and you will be astounded after tasting each and every dish. I really wanted to try their zaafraani dum ka kebab as I have seen its preparation on tv and found it too good, but we were already chock full so had to drop the idea. Surely next time. They deliver around whole NCR. Service was too good. We were very satisfied after having such excellent mughlai food. The food was much much better than any 5-star restaurant or any traditional muglai joint. All claps for the great chefs of Gulati Spice Market.
