Colonel's Kababz, GIP Mall - Noida
'★★★½' One of the very nicest things about this big mall around NCR is the varieties of eating joints flooded on the third floor. There is so much to give a shot. I have lived in Noida for 5 years and have never been bored of shopping & eating here. New restaurants keeps opening here but only quite a few have really succeeded in impressing us and this definitely did it.
We went for shopping, as usual, coz shopping makes my wife happy and it make me, hungry. So, an expedition for nice restaurant started. We jumped onto the third floor & our search ended at this restaurant called colonel's kababz. It looked like a decent place, nothing unusual & noticeable in terms of appearance. We ordered a tangadi kabab, nawabi mutton seekh, 3-course veg meal which includes a naan, bowl of dal makhani & a beverage (Cold mocha).
'Tangadi kabab'
Tangadi kabab: 2 chicken drumstick arrived & was accompanied by green mint sauce and salad. The leg pieces were dipped in cream & fresh coriander. Therefore, they were soft and creamy from the outside but was a bit hard and little dry/less spicy from inside. It seems as it was not marinated properly as the flavours were not completely soaked in there. So it was an average tangadi. Had a lot better than these.
'Nawabi Seekh'
Nawabi Seekh with rumali roti: This is apparently one of their signature dishes. The dish was with gravy so I ordered a rumali along it. As soon as you will taste it, you will get to know that the chef has put a lot of ♥ and nurturing to the dish. It was not the usually frozen kabab you get everywhere. The kababs were drenched in the rogan josh gravy which was masaledaar and delicious. They were not extremely soft but the gravy covered all its flaws. However, the key player of the dish was the gravy. A 5-star dish.
'Dal Makhani'
3-course meal: The meal included a plain naan but they upgraded it into a butter naan on request. Naan was crispy and hot. The daal was thick and heavy. As I was having it with a naan so the thick daal didn't bother me much until it was sizzling and tasty. I could taste all the flavour and spices oozing one after another. I was quite tempted to lick the bowl clean & savour it all.
'Cold Mocha'
Cold coffee: Cute is the 1st word when I first saw the coffee. It was thick, creamy and can be easily shared by ur partner. It was thirst quenching with the perfect blend of rich coffee flavour, cream & chocolate sauce.
Lastly: The food was delightful especially nawabi seekh. It was a pleasant and satisfying experience. The dishes were reasonably priced with good quantity & quality. The ambience didn't really looked that appealing but this is probably a result of owners highlights on flavour, not appearance, which is a bit hard to nag on.
