Cake Factory, Abulane - Meerut
'★★★★' If you are hungry in Meerut, Just stop exploring food and indulge yourself in the savoury divine Italian food this small cafe is offering. In this era of pizza hut & dominos, it's difficult for local cafes to survive and more challenging is to be masters of flavours.

'Cake Factory'
Cake factory is now the best bakery offering lip smacking and fresh cakes, pastries, bread, cookies and everything, which is laborious to inherit in Meerut. It's now more than 6 years, this bakery is still going strong in saket. The latest addition was the new outlet in Bombay bazaar. This new one is more Biggie and appealing than the old one. Earlier, this place was acquired by High street cafe, which served great food initially but gradually the quality deteriorated. Maybe that can be a serious reason that it didn't prolong. Any-ways, everything happens for something better.
Decent, simple and not flashy place with soft pastel colours, soothing your eyes. You can choose your favourite cakes, pastries and mousse, perfectly assorted in a glass display counter one side and fresh arrays of breads/cookies e.t.c on the other.

'Menu'
It was to our surprise that they have even started with their limited snack menu except the bakery. So we ordered a farm fresh pizza, penne arrabbiata, garlic bread with cheese, grilled chicken platter and cold coffee.

'Upstairs'
Once done with ordering we got comfy upstairs which was quite a simple but cute area. It's a low rise floor with white and soft pink floral wallpaper all around, teamed with custom made distress and rustic wooden tables.

'Cheese garlic bread'
First arrived the garlic bread. The classic bread with a piping hot cheese is a real pleasure. Bread was crisp, perfectly complemented with cheese & oregano. It was served with a relishing sauce which tasted garlicky and the overdose of parmesan cheese added a pack of flavour punch. The sauce was a stunner. It was indeed a fabulous start.

'Penne Arrabiata'
The Pasta was served with a plain garlic bread. I was enjoying the lovely aroma of that pasta as soon as it got on our table. Again sprinkled with parmesan, it looked awesome. It smelled so comforting and after the first bite, I probably had some pasta sauce dripping over my chin. That was fantastic. The sauce was insanely delicious and incredibly flavourful. It was an unbeatable pasta. I bet you cannot get better than this anywhere in Meerut. Hats off to the wonderful chef.

'Grilled Chicken Platter'
Next was the grilled chicken platter. It was an eyedropper. Bouquet of tossed vegetables surrounding the breast pieces, cherry tomatoes and mashed potatoes along with their version of sizzler sauce worked quite well. Everything except the breast pieces was nice.

The chicken pieces were damn hard and dry, it seemed undercooked. They were so rough that it took me 5 seconds to even cut a small piece. I could not believe that this was the same cafe where I just finished those two mind blowing starters. It was very disappointing therefore, I complained this to the chef and he brought back the platter after 5 minutes, smeared in a sauce. But there was no point, it was as hard as before. The chicken was undercooked so by adding more sauce won't help it.

'farm fresh pizza'
Pizza and pasta are made for each other just like popcorn and coke. So if you are ordering pasta then you gotta order a pizza too. The pizza came in a wooden pan which was enough for 2 people. It was an average pizza topped with a good amount of mozzarella and other veggies. The base was a little hard . Not bad but a mediocre pizza.

'Cold Coffee'
Cold coffee with ice cream: Special mention to the cold coffee that kept us refreshed during our meal. It was served in a jar with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. If you are a coffee person you are going to love it.

'Cheese Meatballs'
Update 24/04/16: I again went for a quick bite here after 10 days of writing this post and this time, I had the opportunity to meet the talented chef who specially prepared these insanely delicious cheese meat balls. The awesome marinara took the meat balls to the whole new level. (If anyone from this restaurant is reading this, then at-once add this luscious dish in the menu).
I again requested the chef to work on chicken platter as this time also, it was not good. The chicken was hard and dry.
Lastly: One of the best meals that we've ever enjoyed in Meerut. If you are looking for a truly unforgettable pasta and garlic bread experience, then Cake Factory is definitely the place for you. All it took was one bite of its sizzling dishes to make me a huge fan of this bakery. The USP is their amazing cakes and pastries. No one can beat cake factory when it comes to baking in Meerut. The only let down was the chicken, to which I complained and the chef assured to improve it. They should increase the variety of non-veg dishes as well. A chicken platter and sandwiches are just not enough. The location is perfect and a must visit place. Thumbs up from my side.
