'★★★★' Surely the Best midnight bite in Dubai. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but it's not as pleasurable as the midnight dinner because nothing else blows the spot after a long tiring day. We were at the rooftop lounge (located on the terrace of Royal Ascot hotel, Bur Dubai) at 12:00 PM & luckily we didn't have to wait too long. As soon as we entered, we noticed it was jam packed but the place was big enough to accommodate us as well.
'Roof Top Lounge, Bur Dubai'
The ambience was very cheerful, glowing with purple pinkish lights everywhere making the atmosphere more happening. The sitting area was divided into different sections. We were lucky that it was a Bollywood quiz night so we were getting high on the Bollywood number and at the same time, we were recollecting our childhood times by watching one of my favourite cartoon, The popeye show, playing on the screen around every corner.
'Ambience and sitting area'
We ordered mutton kabab, kali mirch chicken tikka, spicy fried vegetable, hakka noodle, veg manchurian, rice, dal makhani, butter chicken & obviously a Hukka. As soon as we finished ordering, we turned our ears to the old remix tracks. We seriously didn't have any high expectation because we knew its really difficult get proper north Indian or Mughlai style food in UAE. Soon the food arrived.

'Crispy fried vegetable'
The veg starter, crispy fried vegetable, was simple but impressive. All the veggies were nice, crisp and pleasant. It was wonderfully seasoned & zingy. So it was a great start.

'Veg Manchurian'
They served a generous portion of Hakka noodles and Manchurian . Noodles & the vegetables were fresh & flavourful. It was perfectly cooked & tasted fantastic. The manchurian balls were soft and tender while the gravy was spiced perfectly.

'Hakka noodles'
I just loved the texture and tenderness of Manchurian which is even hard to get in India. It gave a boost to the noodles.

'mutton seekh kabab'
Then arrived the mutton seekh kabab with 4 big seekh brushed with butter. I didn't knew that I was going to have a rush of spiciness all over my mouth. They were simply outstanding in every possible way. My taste buds aroused and my appetite shooted up. The best part was they were handmade and not frozen. They were insanely hot, spicy and filled with proper seasoning. The kababs was somewhat made as per my taste.

'kaali mirch chicken'
I occasionally order kaali mirch chicken coz not everyone can make a perfect kaali mirch tikkas. One has to be skilled in measuring the amount of kaali mirch which is the hero of dish, and other spices as well while marination. The same inaccuracy happened here. The tikkas were too big in size and was lacking in flavours. It was soft ,tender and peppery from outside but as we get inside it got harder, flat and dry. The big size could be one of the reasons for it to dry and hard from inside and under marination can be the 2nd reason of remaining bland from inside. I wish I should have ordered afghani tikkas.

'Dal Makhani'
Dal Makhani & Rice: The dal looked appealing. Its hard to find a delicious classic dal makhani in Dubai. We tried a lot of other Indian restaurants in Dubai but they all fail to impress. But this one was authentic, it had a proper north Indian taste with all the possible Indian spices to excel it. It was not cheap but worth every penny. The quantity of the rice and dal makhani was plentiful.

'butter chicken'
Every dish was excellent keeping in mind that we were away from our home. I ordered a butter chicken coz we all knew that it's not a very complex dish to make and one can hardly go wrong with its flavour. The butter chicken was boneless and quantity was enough for one. The gravy had sweet notes that really worked well with the name of the dish. The size of chicken was average if not tiny . I was almost full after those heavy snacks but somehow managed in finishing the gravy. This place was a blessing in disguise. I highly recommend checking out this place when you're craving for some good Indian food.
Lastly: Perfect ambience for a lounge along with groovy Bollywood remixes and not to forget their lip smacking food. It was so far the best food we had in Dubai as per my taste buds. Especially, if someone is missing their Indian cuisine. All the portions were reasonably fair. The food was very delicious, even the weakest dish was above average. The staff was very welcoming and chilled out. Service throughout was good if not particularly noteworthy. The menu is very limited, one cannot find a lot of options, but if it tastes so awesome then even less is more. I couldn't believe that we were able to find a place where each dish was made with proper Indian spices and flavours. Every other Indian restaurant serves frozen snacks even the breads, but this place serves fresh food. It's a must try. It's pretty expensive place. Our bill came around 550 AED. (Tip: Reserve your table if you are planning to visit on weekends. It really gets very crowdy)
